About TAILS

TAILS := The Amnesic Incognito Live System

TAILS is a live operating system, ie you can start it
on almost any computer from an external medium
such as a DVD, a USB stick, or an SD card.
However, a 64bit maschine is required.
(32bit maschines are not supported any more.)

It aims at preserving your privacy
and anonymity, and helps you to:

  * use the Internet anonymously and circumvent censorship;
    all connections to the Internet are forced to go through the Tor network;
  * leave no trace on the computer you are using unless you ask it explicitly;
  * use state-of-the-art cryptographic tools to
    encrypt your files, emails and instant messaging.

About the TAILS Meetup

The TAILS Meetup is a weekly meeting to explore the potentials
of the TAILS System, improve usability, and find obstacles.

Meetups should be visible on the event calendar:
https://vrkalender.in-berlin.de

So far we've met on Tuesdays (parallel to FreeCodeCamp),
and on Saturdays. other possible days are Monday and Sunday.
so - join us and let's talk about upcoming meetups!

Bring your own device (BYOD) and maybe one or two USB sticks.

You can get 16GB USB 2.0 sticks for about 5Euros each at
Mediamarkt and Saturn, and even at "dm" and "Rossmann".

2020-10-09:
a three pack of USB 2.0 sticks
of 32GB each now costs just 13Euros.
Next Meetup:
uh... after Corona. whenever that is.. :-/
