Free Email Accounts/Addresses FAQ

There are now many services on the net which give you an address for free. Mind you, nothing is completely free. [*] Those services make their offer either for very little money or they are sponsered and usually add the sponsor's advertisements. For a little fee you can have these ads removed, of course. ;-)

    Caveat

    [001110,011228] POP3-before-SMTP: Sending off email via some ISP might require authentication first. This can be done by retrieving your email via POP first as this requires authentication with your password. This method is know as POP3-before-SMTP. For more info see this page:
